About Hi! People
Hi! People Cannabis Market is a locally owned, Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection licensed adult-use cannabis retailer with stores at 90 Pershing Dr, Derby, CT and 306 Market St, Hartford, CT, offering in-store pickup and scheduled delivery from the Derby store for adults 21 and older.
We opened in January 2025 in the old Italian Pavilion building at 90 Pershing Drive, which the Valley Independent Sentinel called Derby's first cannabis shop. Hartford followed that November at 306 Market Street, by the I-84 and I-91 interchange, and our New Haven store is under construction now.
Hi! People was built by Connecticut people with Connecticut investors. In Derby, hosts with iPads help you browse the menu and order, and the Bud Bar lets you see and smell select strains before you decide.
The Bud Bar, Derby
The Hartford Business Journal and NBC Connecticut both reported it as the first in the state. Select strains sit out in plastic containers so you can look at them and smell them, then a budtender sits down with you one on one and walks you through the menu.
Two markets open, New Haven next
Walk in or order ahead at either store. One number reaches both: 860-420-BUDS (2837).

About the New Haven storeCareers
We hire budtenders, delivery drivers, inventory and compliance staff and managers for our Derby and Hartford stores, and New Haven will need a crew when it opens. Applications go through Indeed and are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Both stores are open seven days, and the live menu takes orders around the clock. Adults 21+ with a valid ID.
