A Newtown shopper's trip to the Derby store, step by step
Sunday is our shortest day, so here is a Sunday pickup in four steps.
- Order before you leave. Our online ordering is open 24/7, so place the order on our live menu before you head out.
- Check the clock. We are open Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM. The other days run longer: Monday to Thursday 9 AM to 9 PM, Friday 9 AM to 10 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 9 PM.
- Drive about 34 minutes. Your map app handles the turns from your address.
- Park and walk in. Our address is 90 Pershing Dr, Derby, CT 06418, and parking on site is free.
Timing the drive from Main Street and the rest of Newtown
Our drive figures are measured from the Census Bureau's center point for the town, not from your door. The town covers 57.5 square miles of land, so the time from your own street can differ, and your map app gives the time from your actual address. The Census Bureau estimated 28,029 residents in town in 2024, and the town sits in the Western Connecticut Planning Region.
If you start on Main Street, enter one of its addresses as your starting point. Edmond Town Hall is at 45 Main Street. It is a Georgian style building on the National Register of Historic Places, and it was the town's municipal center until 2009. The Matthew Curtiss House Museum is at 44 Main Street, and the town's historical society dates the museum house to the mid 1700s. The town itself was incorporated in 1711.
Ordering ahead for counter pickup and the Bud Bar
Prices, potency and stock change through the day, so the live menu is the place to check them, and today's deals are listed there too rather than on this page.
We prioritize products from licensed Connecticut cultivators and processors. If you would rather look before you buy, the Bud Bar is a dedicated consultation area where you sit down one on one with a budtender. It sits toward the back of the showroom and needs no appointment, and our walkthrough of a Bud Bar visit shows what to expect.
The Hartford Business Journal reported in March 2025 that this store opened the state's first bud bar. More about the store itself is on the main page for this store.
Delivery to Newtown comes from the Derby store
If the drive does not fit your day, our delivery service page lists the town among the towns this store serves. This store's live menu takes scheduled delivery orders.
Checkout on the live menu shows the order minimum, the fee and the delivery slot for your address, so enter your address there first. Payment at the door is cash or debit card.
Only the adult who placed the order, 21 or older with ID that matches, can accept it, and that is Connecticut law rather than a store preference.
Monroe, Shelton and Seymour are on that same delivery list, and each has its own page: the Monroe trip page, the Shelton trip page and our Seymour page.
Paying at the store
Can I pay with a credit card?
No: we accept cash and debit cards, and credit cards cannot be used. There is an ATM on site if you need cash when you arrive.
When you are ready, start your pickup order on our live menu.
